The 30-Day Meal Plan: Dos And Don’ts

Since a 30-day period is too short to introduce a major change, we would suggest you alter your existing diet by including these little changes.

  • Do: Eat As Many Nutrient-Dense Foods Possible

We know that with so little time to your wedding, you would be really hard-pressed for time to cook or prep for food. In this scenario, pre-packaged food, or processed food might seem like a more convenient choice, but we would urge you to avoid falling for this bait. Try to eat as many whole foods as you can. Eat foods like avocados, quinoa, and if you plan to include salads in your diet, make your own dressing with lime juice and vinegar.

  • Do: Include Foods That Have Gamma-Linoleic Acid

Gamma-Linoleic acid is a fatty substance that is found in a few plant oils. It is supposed to be good for your skin (1). You can get this nutrient in all organic hemp seeds. Try to include it in your meal by adding all-organic hemp seeds to your smoothies or salads.

  • Do: Hydrate As Much As Possible

By hydration, we don’t mean that you increase your intake of water because if you do that you will just pee out the excess water that you would’ve consumed. Instead of having too much water, include water-based foods such as watermelon, grapes in your diet. This will ensure that your skin maintains its healthy glow.

  • Do: Beat The Stress With Magnesium-Rich Foods

Planning a wedding can be very stressful, and you know this better than anyone. With so much on your plate, things are bound to be a little stressful. While you must include some downtime in your schedule to handle this stress, you should also include magnesium-rich foods such as dark leafy green vegetables (like kale), legumes, nuts, and whole grains in your diet. Magnesium will strengthen your body against the stress from the inside (2).

  • Do: Go For Natural Sugar

If you are fond of your sweet tooth and have a little bit of added sugar in your food every now and then, then we would advise you to switch it with natural sweeteners such as organic honey. Satisfy your sweet cravings by indulging in fruits such as mangoes or grapes.

  • Do: Increase Fibre In Your Diet

You must’ve heard this one before, but it’s one dietary principle you cannot afford to ignore, this close to your big day. Having a lot of fiber will help regularise your bowel movements which would remove all the toxins from your body and make you feel fuller for longer. You can do this by including five helpings of fruits in your daily diet (3).

  • Do: Make Your Food Just A Little Spicy

Almost all of us experience inflammation in our body parts such as our hands, arms, feet, from time to time, which makes them puffy and unsightly. You can counter this by including spices such as turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon in your food. These herbs and spices are known to provide relief from inflammation (4), (5), (6).

  • Don’t: Avoid Eating Foods That Impact Your Body Negatively

Besides avoiding foods that will impact your waistline, you should also avoid foods that take a toll on your skin, or hair. Foods which are high in sodium might make you bloated, or too much caffeine can dehydrate you and make your skin look dull, so avoid foods that contain them. In short, eliminate all those foods from your diet that might affect your health or your appearance negatively.

Now that we have given you plenty of dos and don’ts, you should use them to create a personalized meal plan that would work for you. To help you do this, we have given you a sample meal plan. Study it and introduce your own variations to the elements you want to change.
